INSPIRATION:
There are so many sources of inspiration, including artists Robert
Longo, Pierre Bonnard, Gustav Klimt, William Turner, Kathe Kollwitz.
Music, too, gives me the energy and feeling to move forward; one such
eclectic list: Laurie Anderson, Schumann, Dvorak, Flaming Lips, Amadou
& Mariam, Paris Baguette Quartet...Sometimes it sets the tone,
reminds me of the original inspiration, or just keeps me fresh.
My students always reminded me of how nourishing and always-evolving art can be.
Being in a stimulating environment like San Francisco, taking dance
classes at Rhythm & Motion, visiting artists’ studios—all of this
inspires me greatly. Being in my garden and being truly present, gives
me space to take in new inspiration. Viewing Open Studios always
brightens my perspective and brings awareness of possibilities. For
